Dutch colleges outraged by sex advert
A number of Dutch colleges are furious about an advert in a student information guide distributed among first year students at universities and colleges across the country.
Under the heading ‘Making money with chatting’ the advert seeks to persuade female students to work as a webcam model. The guide’s publisher, Amsterdam company Mediadam, has been shocked by the commotion. Director Angelo Grooten acknowledged on Tuesday that his company had made an error of judgement. He said he had not stopped to think to that the guide would be handed out to minors as well. On its website, the Leiden college of applied sciences says it is considering taking legal steps against Mediadam, which has also received complaints from the Amsterdam School of the Arts and the Utrecht School of the Arts.
