Dutch coaches shortlisted for World's Best Coach

Dutch national football coach Bert van Marwijk and trainer Louis van Gaal of Bayern München have been nominated for the title World Coach of the Year for men's football in 2010. Ten names shortlisted by the FIFA were presented on Tuesday.

It is the first time a best coach of the world title has been awarded. There is also a competition for the best women's football coach.


The name of the first world's best coach will be announced during a gala for the best footballer of the world. Twenty-three players have been nominated for this honorary title. Dutch players Wesley Sneijder of FC Internazionale Milano and Arjen Robben of Bayern München are among the names on the shortlist.

The winners will be announced during the Golden Ball in Zürich on 10 January 2011.
