Dutch budget posted online a day too early
The Dutch economy will grow by 1.0 percent in 2012, down from an earlier prediction of 1.75 percent, according to a copy of the budget leaked a day early Thursday.
Inflation will be at two percent for 2012 and the budget deficit at 2.9 percent of gross domestic product -- just under the EU limit of 3.0 percent.
Due to be released Friday afternoon, the budget was posted online by an employee of an external company and picked up by a Dutch journalist, who then posted a link on Twitter.
The 353-page document was widely circulated to Dutch media organisations for publication and the figures were later confirmed as authentic by the Finance Ministry.
The Dutch Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB) had predicted 1.75 percent economic growth in the Dutch economy for 2012.
Hard copies of the budget document are to be made available Friday and the budget will be formally presented to parliament next week Tuesday.
