Dutch-Singaporean water management project launched

The Netherlands - The Singaporean company Hyflux is to join forces with Dutch technology institute STW to improve processes to desalinate water.

The Netherlands - Economic Affairs Minister Maria van der Hoeven says EUR three million will be invested in the research programme.

She also announced that a Dutch Waterhouse would be build, where Dutch knowledge in the field of Dutch water management could be passed on to the people of Singapore.

The minister visited the Singaporean water treatment company on Friday.

She is in the country with Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende and Education and Science Minister Ronald Plasterk to exchange information on innovation.
