Dutch-Iranian prisoner in isolation cell

A Dutch-Iranian woman, Zahra Bahrami, has recently been transferred to an isolation cell in an Iranian prison, according to her daughter.

Speaking to the Dutch-based , her daughter said that her lawyer has also been arrested and placed in an isolation cell. Ms Bahrami has begun a hunger strike.

45-year-year-old Zahra Bahrami has been in jail since December 2009. She was arrested on her return from London following a visit to her children. The Iranian authorities accuse her of opposition activities and the possession of drugs. If the judge decides she is guilty, she could face the death penalty.
