The Dutch embassy in Yemen’s capital Sanaa has closed its doors due to the worsening security situation, the foreign ministry says on its website.

The foreign ministry ordered the embassy’s closure after close consultations with European Union member states.

In all, 44 Dutch nationals are thought to be in Yemen. They have been informed of the closure. Over the past weeks they were repeatedly urged to leave the country as soon as possible.
