AMSTERDAM — A man, 46, from the Dutch town of Oudenbosch took the driver of the local train from Vissingen to Amsterdam hostage for a short time on Wednesday.

He rushed into the driver's compartment and claimed to have a pair of scissors and explosives.

The man — who police say was under the influence of alcohol — forced the driver to stop the train at Roosendaal train station for a short time.

The railway police evacuated the station and arrested the man as he left the train. He did not have any explosives and the driver was uninjured in the bizarre incident.
