AMSTERDAM – A drunken Scottish passenger attacked and assaulted a KLM airlines captain when boarding a plane at Schiphol on Wednesday.

The captain of a flight bound for Aberdeen was refusing to take the 39-year-old man on board because he was intoxicated.

Security guards quickly rushed to the scene and managed to overpower the Scot, the Marechaussee reports.

The captain suffered minor injuries. His attacker was arrested and released on Thursday morning after being fined EUR 1,500.
