Drug busts in the Netherlands Antilles

The Netherlands Antilles' coast guard has intercepted a sailing boat carrying 192 kg of cannabis near the island of St Maarten.

ANTILLES - The Netherlands Antilles' coast guard has intercepted a sailing boat near the island of St Maarten which was carrying at least 192 kg of cannabis.

When a coast guard vessel approached the boat, the crew began dumping packages overboard. Seven of the packages were recovered and five crew members arrested.

On Monday, a coast guard vessel off the coast of Curaçao intercepted a speedboat which was carrying 160 kg of cocaine.
