OUDENBOSCH – Dozens of homes in the town of Oudenbosch in Brabant were evacuated at about 10 pm on Monday because of a major gas leak underneath the road.

The police say that about 35 homes in a radius of 100 metres around the leak on the Vader Vincentiusstraat were evacuated.

At about midnight the leak was stopped and the 85 residents were allowed to return to their homes by 2.30 am.

It is still unclear what caused the leak.
