Dominic Barter in Amsterdam for a workshop on Restorative Circles©
Brit Dominic Barter developed his Restorative Circles method of conflict resolution in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, one of the most violent cities in the world.Amsterdam--Dominic Barter will be in Amsterdam on January 14th and 15th, 2011 to give an introductory workshop on Restorative Circles (RC). It will take place at the Oranjekerk and admittance is free. Participants will learn about Barter's unique method of finding justice.
Dominic Barter developed his Restorative Circles (RC) method in the slums of Rio de Janeiro, one of the most violent cities in the world. He recognised the inability of the existing judicial system to deal effectively with conflict and devised a method that enables people to navigate conflict in a way that leads to more satisfying solutions and keeps everyone involved. His method brings people and communities together. In Brazil, RC is a recognized method for conflict resolution.
In this 2-day introductory workshop, Dominic Barter will explain the process of RC step by step, using real life examples and anecdotes. Participants will practise the process in small groups. There will be plenty of time for questions and opportunities to share your personal experiences.
