Danish embassy bombed in Pakistan

THE NETHERLANDS - Both de Volkskrant and Trouw have front-page photos of the devastation wreaked by the bomb outside the Danish embassy in Islamabad in Pakistan on Monday.
There is a Dutch angle to the suicide bombing: the Dutch ambassador's residence is close to the Danish embassy and was damaged in the blast although no one was injured.
Trouw says the ambassador was forced to live in a hotel in April following extremist threats. He will have to do the same again now.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Salman Bashir is quoted as saying that his country "has been shamed" by the attack, but the paper goes on to point out that Pakistan is still a hotbed of Muslim extremism.
