One of Czech television’s best known journalists was fired for posting a video of his colleagues grimacing and making pig-like noises on his blog.

PRAGUE – One of Czech television's best known journalists was fired Monday after making pig-like snorting noises in a video posted on his blog, referring to the swine flu outbreak that has killed 26 people.

Jiri Dlabaja, who worked for the country's top television station, Nova, is pictured in the video asking five of his colleagues about what stories they are working on.

Each one grimaces and makes pig-like noises, followed by Dlabaja.

The station's director, Petr Dvorak, described the incident a serious lapse in standards, as the video spread out over the Internet.

"As this video was filmed during working hours and in the newsroom, we decided to crack down," he said in a statement.
