Curaçao and Sint Maarten, the two new countries within the Dutch kingdom, have installed their first governments, parliaments and governors.

The move comes on the same day the Netherlands Antilles, a former Dutch colony in the Caribbean, was disbanded. The governor of Curaçao, Frits Goedgedrag, was, until Saturday, the governor of the Netherlands Antilles. Former airport director Eugene Holiday has been named Sint Maarten's governor.

Curaçao's government is headed by Gerrit Schotte, who leads a coalition formed by MFK, Pueblo Soberano en MAN. On Sint Maarten, a coalition comprising the UP Party and the DP is being led by Sarah Wescot-Williams.
