Cruijff offers Hiddink seat on Ajax board

Dutch football star Johan Cruijff has offered Guus Hiddink a seat on the Ajax board.

In his weekly column, Hiddink, who is currently Turkey’s national coach, says he first must find out if he can juggle both functions.

“It is a wonderful challenge, but I’m worried about the practical side”, says Hiddink, who has also been offered a role as advisor at his former club PSV.

Hiddink underlines Cruijff approached him first, adding that the job of a board member is less complex that the one of advisor.

Next week Hiddink will be in Limburg, in the south of Holland, to train Turkey’s national team to a key European qualifier against Belgium.

Both countries are vying for the second place in their group, after Germany.

Football expert Johan Derksen, quoting sources he deems reliable, says Hiddink’s move to Ajax is close at hand.   cl
