THE HAGUE – Photographer Anton Corbijn will attend the Dutch premiere of his feature film debut Control on 9 October. Distributor Paradiso Films announced this on Monday. The premiere will be held at the Pathe Buitenhof in The Hague. Leading actor Sam Riley and actress Alexandra Maria Lara are also thought to be attending.

Corbijn decided to premiere the film in The Hague because of his special connection with the city. The photographer recently designed the city's new logo at the municipality's request. 52-year-old Corbijn will also soon be moving permanently into his house in The Hague.

The film Control tells the life story of Ian Curtis, singer of the band Joy Division. Curtis committed suicide in 1980 at the age of 23. The production had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May and was very well received and honoured with a number of prizes.

The film will be playing in cinemas throughout the country from 11 October.
