AMSTERDAM – The unofficial strike by bus drivers of the Connexxion public transport company in Zaandam came to an end on Tuesday night.

After two days of strike the drivers will be hitting the roads again on Wednesday morning, Connexxion announced last night.

After consultation, bus company management and drivers came to an agreement that a new timetable will be introduced by 31 March at the latest. The drivers will not be paid for the time on strike however.

About 70 bus drivers stopped work on Monday morning in dissatisfaction with the new timetable, which they say causes too many delays.
