Colour Festival to become annual event

Rotterdam may add a new annual gay event to its many attractions: the Colour Festival.

The festival will be held for the first time next week as the cultural and musical component of the EuroGames, the European Gay & Lesbian Sports Championships. The EuroGames will be held in Rotterdam’s Ahoy venue from 20 until 24 July.

The organisers of the EuroGames intend to transform the Colour Festival into an annual event of the Netherlands’ main port city. The first edition of the Colour festival will include performances by US pop punk band Betty and a free closing concert by the legendary US group Sister Sledge on 23 July.
