Classical music: New Masters on Tour in November

1st October 2009, Comments 0 comments

The International Holland Music Sessions presents the second New Masters on Tour 2009/10 concert, with performances in November in Amsterdam, The Hague and Zwolle.

New Masters on Tour is more than an inspiring international concert series: it is also a discovery tour of future celebrities. The concerts are given by musicians of outstanding talent at the start of an international tour, having been coached during the annual Summer Academy in Bergen NH by master musicians such as Pierre Amoyal, Lazar Berman and Aldo Ciccolino.

US pianist Andrew Staupe is now on tour in Europe. A splendid composition of Mendelssohn, a lively Toccata by his fellow countryman Jalbert and three masterpieces from Liszt make up Staupe’s repertoire. French violinist Maria Milstein is a real discovery whose fervent performance has roused many. Together with Dutch pianist Sander Sittig, she plays the monumental violin sonata by Richard Strauss and Ravel’s exuberant Tzigane.
