GARBSEN – Live chickens from a Dutch farm caused upheaval among motorists on a motorway in Germany on Thursday. The chickens had fallen from a Dutch lorry at Garbsen near Hannover.
Police officers who stopped the truck found that the truck had not been loaded properly. A dozen or so of the 10,000 chickens kept the lorry driver company in his cabin, according to a police statement that also said that some of the animals did not survive their stroll on the motorway.
