Chelsea, Real also through to CL quarter finals

On Wedneday Chelsea was the third UK club to go through to the quarter finals of the Champions League. The London squad eliminated Danish club FC Kopenhagen in a home game at Stamford Bridge. After a 2-0 victory in the away game, Chelsea played the Danes to a 0-0 draw. Earlier, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur joined the final eight of the Champions League tournament.

In Spain, Real Madrid succeeded in reaching the final eight of the Champions League for the first time since 2004. The Madrid squad followed eternal rival FC Barcelona to the quarter finals by winning a decisive victory over Olympique Lyon. And the final 3-0 score did not even do justice to Real’s superiority over the French team.

Marcelo, Karim Benzema and Angel di Maria scored the goals. The away game in France had ended in a 1-1 draw maakten de doelpunten. In that game, Karim Benzema also scored for Real.
