Chechens hail Ruud Gullit as hero
He has done nothing yet, but he is already a hero. Ruud Gullit arrived in the Chechen capital Grozny on Wednesday to an extremely enthusiastic reception from the fans.
The Dutch footballer has signed an 18-month contract as trainer of the Chechen team Terek Grozny. The team is owned by Chechnya's controversial president Ramzan Kadirov but Gullit emphasized he was there for sport not politics.
He was enthusiastic about his new job: "I've already had a chance to work with the Terek footballers. They are good players I'm sure I will be able to work with and achieve our aims."http://cdn.radionetherlands.nl/data/files/gullit.jpg
