In the coming week, the first girls in the country will be inoculated against cervical cancer.

THE NETHERLANDS - The girls will be aged between 12 and 16.

A survey by the National Institute of Pubic Health and the Environment has revealed that many girls are scared of the vaccination and have only had their fears increased by wild rumours circulating on the internet.

In addition, many parents are also worried about the inoculation and are asking whether it really will provide protection against cervical cancer.

Despite such concerns, the institute believes that more than 70 percent of those notified will agree to the vaccination.
