US private-equity fund Carlyle Group has bought Dutch pension manager AlpInvest, which manages 32 billion euros in assets, for an undisclosed amount, the two companies announced Wednesday.

Carlyle and AlpInvest managers joined together to purchase the company from the two Dutch pension funds, APG and PGGM, whose funds AlpInvest managed.

The deal, subject to regulatory approval, should close in March, they said.
