AMSTERDAM -- Finance Minister Wouter Bos told the lower house of parliament today that the cabinet is to implement a series of new measures in order to strengthen the Dutch economy. On Friday, ministers will make a number of key decisions regarding the housing market, support for hospitals and government guarantees for investors.

Bos denied accusations levelled by the right-wing Freedom Party claiming the government is only supporting the banks and in comparison to other countries, is doing far too little to help the economy recover from the global financial crisis.
