AMSTERDAM – The average score on the standardised CITO test was slightly higher this year than last. The average score was 535.1, one tenth of a point higher than last year, CITO announced on Tuesday.

Nine children managed to complete the test without a single error. Forty-five made only one error. All students must answer 200 questions on language, mathematics and study skills.

The students in their last year of primary school who took the test will receive their results in the next few days.

As in 2006, girls scored better on the language section and boys scored better on mathematics. There was very little difference between girls' and boys' scores on the study skills section.
