THE HAGUE – The Christian democrat CDA is looking for legal instruments to close down mosques where radical imams are preaching a message of hate, say MP Madeleine van Toorenburg.

"What measures can we take against mosques that undermine the security of our rule of law?" Van Toorenburg asks.

She says the government should take steps against the mosque as a whole, not only the imams sowing hate. "The imams cannot be expelled. Besides, these imams do not speak a word of Dutch, so it is not they who have put these radical texts online," she says.
