GOUDA -- Connexxion's buses will go back to work in Gouda's Oosterwei district on Wednesday.

The drivers have refused to drive in the district after a driver was robbed at knifepoint over the weekend. Other incidents in which young people had threatened drivers only strengthened the drivers' resolve to boycott the district.

The bus company and the town council are now taking steps to make bus travel safer. They will place cameras in all the buses and provide drivers who feel unsafe with protection.
