Bus driver beaten unconscious

12 February 2007, AMSTERDAM – A 43-year-old bus driver from Hoofddorp was beaten unconscious by two passengers late Saturday night. The police found the driver at about 1.15 a.m. on Sunday morning. The driver was in his bus, unconscious, near Spaarnepoort, says the Kennemerland police.

AMSTERDAM – A 43-year-old bus driver from Hoofddorp was beaten unconscious by two passengers late Saturday night. The police found the driver at about 1.15 a.m. on Sunday morning. The driver was in his bus, unconscious, near Spaarnepoort, says the Kennemerland police.

The driver said he was attacked by two youths of about 16 or 17 years of age. The teenagers wanted to be taken to Haarlem, but the bus was not going further than Hoofddorp. Upon being told this the boys reportedly became enraged and decided to assault the driver.

The driver was brought to the hospital for examination and treatment.
