The body of a 14-year-old boy was found in the woods a day after he went missing.

Urk – The Dutch town of Urk is in shock after the body of a missing 14-year-old boy was found deep in the words, reported de Telegraaf.

The body of Dirk Post was found on Wednesday afternoon by two passer-bys who were taking a stroll in Urkerbos in the north-eastern provincial town.

According to the paper, traces of violence were found on his body. The police is suspecting foul play and has deployed a large investigation team to investigate the murder.

Post, who went missing on Tuesday evening, was last seen with a red sweater and a skating board on Tuesday afternoon. After the boy from Emelwerda College failed to return home for dinner, his parents logged into his Hyves account to notify his friends.

The media industry reported that the close-knit community is in shock.

“One of us has been murdered, that is how we see it,” one of Post’s skating friends was quoted as saying in the AD.

His other friends said it was not possible to get into a row with Post. His headmaster told De Telegraaf that he was a quiet and friendly boy.

However, a girl said there was a group that seemed to be bullying him.

At his school in Emmerloord, the flag hangs at half mast and a quiet room furnished with a table on a picture of Dirk allows his friends to express their condolences.

Urk is known for being a deeply religious town. It was once an island in the Zuiderzee, but it became incorporated by reclaimed land last century.
