AMSTERDAM -  A tradition comes to an end as the final bottle of HP brown sauce to be produced in the UK rolls off a production line in Aston, Birmingham.

US company and owner of HP, H.J. Heinz Co. is moving production of the sauce to a factory in Elst, the Netherlands, to save USD 150 million over the next 10 years. The move will cost 120 jobs in the UK.

There was much opposition to the plan from both local businesses and even the House of Commons when it was announced last August.

"Even workers at the new factory in the Netherlands objected to the move in a show of solidarity with workers in England," the Associated Press reported.
