AMSTERDAM — Three boys have been arrested for the arson attack that destroyed a Muslim primary school in the Dutch town of Uden two weeks ago.
The suspects, whose ages range from 14 to 15, were arrested in the last few days.
Public prosecutor Charles van der Voort told a press conference in the town on Thursday that the three are also part of a group of six teenage boys suspected of attempting to burn down the local mosque.
Police have not uncovered any evidence that the six are connected to right-wing extremist groups or were involved in other attacks.
The destruction of the Muslim school was the most serious incident in a spate of tit-for-tat attacks on Muslim properties and Christian churches following the murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam on 2 November.
A 26-year-old Muslim man was arrested for the killing.
