The Netherlands - Dutch Labour Party leader Wouter Bos says he wants to change the rules of the job market so that people do not have to stop working because their professions are so physically or mentally intensive that when they reach retirement age they are a physical wreck.

The government wants to raise the retirement age from 65 to 67.

However, many people raise the objection that in some professions people are unable to work at an older age because their health is already broken.

Bos, who is also Deputy and Finance Minister, says that if the jobs are organised in a more healthy manner there will be fewer objections to raising the retirement age.
