AMSTERDAM - Wouter Bos has had enough of the criticism from Ehsan Jami and has opened the counterattack. "It is not the PvdA that is dropping Jami, but he that is dropping the party," the labour party leader said in an interview with Trouw.

"We have always supported him since he announced he wanted to set up a committee for former Muslims," says Bos, also finance minister.

"We have held talks with him about his security and much more. Now he accuses the party leadership of actively opposing his candidacy for the party executive. But if you want to be a leader of the PvdA, you do have to maintain some of the principles and philosophy of the party."
