Boot Camp in the Vondelpark: a fitness alternative
Popular in the US and UK, Boot Camps are an effective way to lose fat and get into shape. By working in a group with the same goal, it is a fun and effective alternative to the gym.
Personal Trainer, Lorna Wilson has started a Boot Camp in the Vondelpark, Amsterdam. On Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9.55am Lorna leads groups for outdoor training sessions.
Boot Camp group training sessions last an hour. They are a combination of muscle endurance and cardiovascular training. They are suitable for all abilities; participants work at their own level. The sessions are conducted in English.
“The people who have come to the Boot Camp so far have said how much fun they have had while taking part. Many have expressed a dislike for going to the gym and much preferred being able to workout in this environment. Unlike military style Boot Camps I don’t have an intimidating style, I prefer to motivate by using positive encouragement. The first session is free to allow people have a go and see for themselves.” Says Lorna
