AMSTERDAM — The body of a Scottish expat has been discovered in the Netherlands.

The man has been identified as Jonathon Kennedy, believed to be from Ayr, news service The Scotsman reported.

Kennedy was in his late 20s and had been working in Amsterdam before going missing several weeks ago.

Scottish police are liaising with Dutch authorities and have contacted the man's relatives.

"We can confirm we are aware of a missing British national in the Netherlands," a British Foreign Office spokesman said.
