Balkenende not ready to quit politics

In an interview with Elsevier magazine, the Dutch prime minister talks about how motivated he feels and have energy for many more years to come.

THE HAGUE – Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende says he intends to play a prominent role in Dutch politics for a long time to come.

In an interview with Elsevier magazine, he said: "I'm feeling good, I'm very motivated and have plenty of energy for many more years". Earlier, Balkenende said his plans extended to 2015.

If the prime minster were to remain in office till 2015, he would surpass the record set by his predecessor Ruud Lubbers, who was in power for nearly 12 years in the 1980s and 1990s. Balkenende became prime minister since 2002.

In the interview, Balkenende also talked about his good personal contacts with many world leaders, including French President  Nicolas Sarkozy and his US counterpart George W Bush.

    Oh no, shoe throwing time i think. wish we had a video game like that, lots of leaders in lots of country's are very needful of shoes, and we would i feel be a little more cheerful after perfecting our aim.
