The body of a baby has been found in a park in Alkmaar in Noord-Holland, Dutch media say on Thursday.

The baby appears to be new-born and was found in the De Rekerhout, the city’s biggest park, which includes a farm and wild areas.

Police were alerted to the find by passers-by and 20 detectives are investigating the case.

The baby will undergo a post mortem examination later on Thursday.

Several weeks ago a new-born baby was found dumped in an underground rubbish container in Amsterdam after a woman out walking her dog heard cries.

That baby survived and is now being looked after by foster parents but her parents have not yet been traced.

No? In a 1st world country? In europe? No way?! Seriously?

You see these happen everywhere, and I hope [edited] media learns they should not single out similar incidents from other part of the world and imply anything on culture or life norms there.

Let's not forget in your country policemen kidnap and kill teenage girls and girls as young as 9 get knocked up by their biological fathers!

P.S. I give a 1% chance my post will pass through censorship agents of expatica.
