NIEUWEGEIN – Police arrested six people on Monday evening for involvement in a massive fight that broke out in Nieuwegein. A police spokesperson says that a total of between 60 and 80 people were involved.

The fight broke out during the evening at the Muntplein shopping centre. The cause for the fight is still not clear. The spokesperson said that one group appears to have attacked another because of its "irritating behaviour."

Since a number of those involved called family members, more and more people got involved in the fighting. The police had to deploy at least 20 officers and dogs to separate the two groups.
