ZEIST - Police arrested seven people at a protest in the central town of Zeist this weekend. The demonstrators - all members of the group 'Anarchistic Anti-Deportation Group Utrecht' - were protesting against the confinement of refugees at the Camp Zeist detention centre.

Camp Zeist is home to men and women who have been refused asylum and who are being held as aliens. They are usually people who cannot immediately be deported because they have no papers.

The time that they spend in the camp can vary from a few days to a year.
