AMSTERDAM – The Netherlands has yet another free daily paper. It is called Dag and is available at a great many railway stations and Albert Heijn branches from today.

The newspaper is a joint effort from KPM and PCM, publisher of newspapers like the Volkskrant and NRC Handelsblad. The new publication is to pose competition for existing daily free sheets Metro, Spits and De Pers.

Dag not only offers news on paper, but also on the internet and via sms text messages. The founders expect the paper to be profitable within two years.
