AMSTERDAM — The municipal government of Amsterdam want to install double-glazed windows in a quarter of a million homes within several years, De Volkskrant writes.

The municipality will also invest in better central heating boilers.

The new measures are part of the environmental policies plan developed by the Mayor and the aldermen together and representing the visions of the Labour Party and the Green Left Party ( PvdA and GroenLinks).

The plan will be presented by the municipality later today.
