The plane was flying from Curacao to Amsterdam when the warning light suggesting a defect in the emergency motor went off.

Puerto Rico – A KLM plane flying from Curacao to Amsterdam on Sunday made a precautionary landing in Puerto Rico after a warning light in the cockpit indicated a defect in the emergency motor.

“Normally the motor is not required during a flight, but the decision was taken because planes have to be 200 percent in order,” said a spokesperson for KLM.

No defects were detected upon examining the Boeing 747-400. The plane of 400 passengers flew back to Curacao before heading for the Netherlands.
