12 December 2006, AMSTERDAM — Amsterdam Weekly, the Dutch capital's free cultural paper, has won three European Newspaper Awards for the second year in a row.

AMSTERDAM — Amsterdam Weekly, the Dutch capital's free cultural paper, has won three European Newspaper Awards for the second year in a row.
The paper was selected for awards in two categories: Front Page and Photography. The awards will be presented early next year in Vienna.
The Photo Notes series from photographer Hans Eijkelboom and the Attachments by artist/photographer Arnoud Holleman were selected for two awards in the photography/illustration categories.
The works by designer Subalpin and photographers-duo WassinkLundgren won the Front Page Weekly Newspaper category.
The Amsterdam Weekly is one of five newspapers in the Netherlands, including nrc.next, to be honoured at the European Newspaper Awards. About 300 newspapers from 26 European countries entered the competition.
First published in March 2004, Amsterdam Weekly has a circulation of 24,000 and is distributed at nearly 700 locations across Amsterdam, including cafés and restaurants, bars, bookshops, record stores, fitness clubs and the Amsterdam Uitburo.
