Ajax loses ground on premier league leaders

Ajax has drawn 2-2 against Roda JC in Limburg, putting the Amsterdam team five points behind joint premier league leaders PSV and FC Twente.

Goals by Miralem Suljemani and Siem de Jong, put Ajax in the lead by the 34th minute. But before half time, Mads Junker scored bringing Roda JC back into the game.

Anouar Hadouir took advantage of a free kick to even out the scoring in the 81st minute for NAC. But Mounir El Hamdaoui gave possible victory away for Ajax, when he missed a penalty in the last ten minutes of the match.

Meanwhile, NAC Breda lost at home to SC Heerenveen 2-0. It was the first victory for the visiting team in 2011. The two teams made it to half time with a goalless draw. In the first minute of the second half NAC's Robbert Schilder missed a penalty.

An hour into the game Luciano Narsingh put Heerenveen in the lead and in the 82nd minute teammate Oussama Assaidi scored as well. As a result, Heerenveen is in nineth place, four points ahead of NAC and just one point behind FC Utrecht. NAC slides down to 11th position.

In Nijmegen, NEC won 2-0 against Rotterdam's Excelsior. Danish midfielder Niki Zimling scored twice, his first goals since joining the club. The well-earned victory puts NEC in tenth place in the league while Excelsior remains down in 16th place.
