AMSTERDAM — With a mixture of pride and disappointment, Ajax achieved one of its best results of the season on Wednesday night, drawing 2-2 with the mighty Italians of Internazionale in the Champions League.

Ajax had been winning the first leg 2-0 at the Amsterdam ArenA with first-half goals by Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Mauro Rosales.

With Inter pulling back both goals in the second half, Ajax must now win in Milan in two weeks to progress further in the competition.

Nonetheless, trainer Danny Blind said he was pleased with the performance of his team, which was missing four first selection players.

However, he conceded Ajax had only a very small chance of winning the away leg.
