THE NETHERLANDS - A Dutch government report has shown that around 1.6 million people in the Netherlands do not know how to use a computer.

Most of them are aged over 50 or have had little education. Half of them are employed and could raise their salaries if they had basic computer skills. Should they have computer skills, they might also save money as they would be able to compare prices online.

Industry, education and the police are all facing a shortage of computer literate workers. The report also found that after the Scandinavian countries, the Netherlands has the highest number of internet users in the European Union.

Doesn't surprise me in the least! Most of these IT-illiterates seem to work in IT recruitment ; I've yet to meet one that knows the first thing about IT...... :-(
