THE HAGUE – Motorists' association ANWB expects another busy day on the road in France this Saturday because of holiday traffic. There will be a great deal of congestion particularly on the ring-roads around Paris, the A7 Lyon-Orange, the A9 near Montpellier and the A10 Paris-Bordeaux, the ANWB reported today.

Holidaymakers are advised to wait until Sunday before setting off in the direction of France. The ANWB says that this Saturday may be even busier than last week's "black Saturday" when people in the Paris region started their summer holiday. At the peak of congestion last week tailbacks reached 550 kilometres.

The French roads were busy on the first Saturday of August last year as well. Traffic was at a standstill for more than 658 km.
