30 November 2004 , AMSTERDAM — The months of September, October and November of this year were mild, reasonably dry and very sunny, meteorology bureau KNMI said Tuesday.

AMSTERDAM — The months of September, October and November of this year were mild, reasonably dry and very sunny, meteorology bureau KNMI said Tuesday.

The average temperature recorded at the De Bilt-based KNMI was 10.9 degrees Celsius compared with a normal average of 10.2.

At the start of September, KNMI also recorded five summer days with maximum temperatures of 25 degrees. The highest autumn temperature recorded this year was 28.4 degrees.

On a nation-wide basis, there was 195mm of rain recorded, compared with a long-term average of 235.

The number of sun hours was also higher than normal, with KNMI recording 390 hours in the past three months compared with an average of 302.
