25 Dutch still trying to leave Libya

Around 50 Dutch nationals are still in Libya, according to the Dutch Foreign Ministry, and half of them want to leave. The Dutch are spread throughout the country and it is difficult or impossible to communicate with them.

The ministry and the Dutch embassy are still looking for ways to evacuate them.

There is a military transport plane in Sicily ready to make another flight to Tripoli and the navy vessel HR MS Tromp is not far off the Libyan coast.

The Dutch citizens evacuated from Libya on Thursday are arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol airport on Friday evening.
